What are the guest classes and when do they take place?
On the first Thursday of each month there will be a guest masterclass which will last an hour and will be on topics related to well-being and resilience. Again, these will be interactive and practical in nature and I am always open to suggestions from members as to what topics you would like to see and suggestions for guest facilitators.
Do you share any of the group calls publicly?
The classes (although I don’t like that word as it seems too much like school!) will be private, confidential sessions held on Zoom. By taking part, you agree that what is shared in the sessions is confidential – you are welcome to tell friends, family and colleagues about what you or I said, but should not share the specific details of what others in the group said, without their permission. It is therefore also important that you commit to not sharing the recordings with anyone else either.
How are the classes structured?
The Zoom gatherings will be fully interactive and will combine whole group journaling with breakout rooms where you can get to know other people and exchange insights and ideas at a more intimate level. The structured part of the class will be 45 minutes and then there is an open invitation to stay and chat in a less structured way for up to 15 minutes afterwards.
What are the recorded journal prompts?
At the beginning of each calendar month, an audio guided journal prompt will be made available for you to access on demand. I am aiming to make these seasonal in theme and to set a tone/area of focus for that month. The first one will be available on 1st February and then on the 1st of every following month.
Do I have to join the Facebook community?
You do not have to join, although I would love you to be a part of it. It is a place to ask questions, follow up from the classes or post when you achieve something or are stuck with something.
What happens if I am away on holiday or unable to attend the classes, or if you are on holiday or sick?
The most important aspect of this community is the live gathering. There is something very powerful in stopping everything you are doing to just “be” and to connect with others who are doing the same. With that in mind, I intend that every week there will be a live gathering come what may. If for any reason you cannot make it, the recording will be available within 24 hours.
I do believe in the importance of rest and time away from work, so it is possible that I will need a break however I regard journaling as restorative, so I may decide to continue facilitating the live classes even if I am “on a break”. If I do need to switch off completely, my current plan is to either invite a guest facilitator or to invite one or more of the members to host the live gathering. This would also be what would happen if I get sick, so that the consistency and continuity of our gatherings is preserved.
